Welcome to Social Studies. At ACA we focus mainly on travel and social interaction as well as history. Isabella learned the basic fundamentals about the world around us, and more intricate details regarding community in the country she lives in. Understanding global relations on a human level helped her gain greater clarity for social interaction. She gained proficiency in geography as it related to states, cities, countries, and their governments. Isabella also learned about the great men and woman that came before us, their bravery, and how freedoms such as voting and owning our own businesses were as a result of this courageousness. We experienced extensive physical travel within Florida and the United States, and online a comprehensive exploration of Europe and the countries of her cultural background. We also learned about commercialism and she has had interactions with business owners in Asia and is learning Spanish with an instructor in Peru. Isabella is of Italian heritage mainly with her Mother that is Italian and her father that is Irish and Spanish. We chose Spanish given its ties to America and its easy gateway to other European languages. Italian will be her next focus once she begins to master Spanish.
